◆Tutoring System
The tutoring system provides individual support on education and research for international students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering (hereafter, “international students”), with the aim of helping them to adapt quickly to the learning environment, and improve their studies/research. Under this system, tutors (student advisors) selected by the University are assigned to international students to provide individual support under the guidance of the supervising faculty.
In principle, one tutor will be assigned to each individual international student that is without adequate Japanese language communication skills and is living abroad for the first time, for a period of one year.
◆Criteria for International Students who Wish to Benefit from the Tutoring System
I: Undergraduate students: Maximum of two years upon arrival in Japan
II: Regular graduate students and research students: Maximum of one year upon arrival in Japan
III: Others, particularly students whom the supervising faculty has assessed to be in need of support: Maximum of one year upon arrival in Japan
(Non-regular students such as special auditing students and special research students)
Students who wish to benefit from the tutoring system should approach their advisors or the supervising faculty of their seminar class.
